The Romper at Last: Various Iterations

Okay, here’s the romper in a bunch of variations. Which is the best? Or are they all terrible???

I like it this way, but not sure about the necklace.

Yes or No: ‘Rompers’

Remember when I wrote about jumpsuits? Well…

I shopped with my sister-in-law a few days ago. We went to the store where I bought my favorite black lace shorts, Tula (that’s the name of the store, not the name of my shorts;I don’t name my clothes…). Carmen got a pair of Current and Elliott jeans — my brother and I talked her into buying a really good pair and they looked awesome on her — and a cute black tunic. Anyway, I tried on a bunch of stuff, including what I thought was called a jumpsuit but is apparently called a romper these days.

Evolution of an Outfit

Yes, it’s been nearly two weeks since the last time I wrote anything. I blame it on my children. Every time I take a picture of an outfit, they give me a hard time, as in, “mom, you take more selfies than my friends and I do.” And, since summer vacation started a couple of weeks ago, they’re always home.

Actually, Michael has offered to take my pictures for me. He says I need to spice up my fashion pictures and make them more interesting. So he took this one:

He thought it would be more interesting from an angle. (Free People shirt, Target shoes.)

5 Fashion Tips from Nordstrom Liz! (Plus One Bonus)

I was so excited when Jennifer asked me to do a blog post for her with five fashion tips for Spring. I met Jennifer in January, and I have LOVED seeing her style transform from jeans and a t-shirt to a polished boho chic mom.

Before I launch into my five fashion tips, Jennifer asked me to write a short bio about myself. A lot of people ask me how I became a Personal Stylist, and everyone assumes that I must have studied fashion or had some glamorous job that landed me to my current position. But the truth is that I stumbled into this job. After graduating with my degree in Spanish Linguistics and Spanish Literature from CU, I quickly found out that the jobs I was qualified for sounded monotonous and boring, and I wanted more. I have always believed that if I have to devote 40 hours of my life every week to something, I HAVE to be happy doing it.

Bubble Skirt on Middleaged Butt?

Tried to give this outfit a little more flair and dimension by adding the denim vest, but I think it might have looked better without it… My Trouv√© leather jacketwould have looked great with it but it was a little too warm.

Sassy Summer Shoes and Lots of Pictures

I forgot that I meant to post some pics of shoes that might help spice up a summer wardrobe. Not that any of YOUR summer wardrobes need spicing, but mine do.

Anyway, my sister/bestie sent me a picture of her “sassy” pink shoes, which she got ten years ago (or so). Now that she (finally) has a job again, she has to get out of her crossfit exercise clothes and dress like a grownup again, and I can tell she’s doing a good job just from this picture of her lower half. And look at those legs! Sheesh…

Would You Wear These in Summer?

Chatted with a friend yesterday about wearing boots in summer… Is it appropriate? Seems a lot of people are wearing those short booties with skirts or shorts, or those sandals that are tall and are sort of a boot hybrid. But what about higher boots?
